
Mariam Bitsadze

Mariam Bitsadze is a film director from Georgia, holding a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master’s in Audio-Visual Arts. She has contributed to internationally acclaimed films such as Corn Island and Khibula. In 2016, she founded her independent production company, 17/07 Productions.

Her debut short film, The Feast (2023), premiered at the Tbilisi International Film Festival, where it won the award for Best Short Film. Mariam is working on her second fiction short film through the MA at ECAL/HEAD in Switzerland and developing a feature documentary. She is a co-producer of Heart Don’t Be Afraid by Ana Kvichidze and co-author of Sacred Songs by Nona Giunashvili, both documentaries are in post-production.

An active member of the European Film Academy, the Documentary Association of Europe (DAE), and the European Women’s Audiovisual Network (EWA), Mariam also serves as a board member of the Documentary Association of Georgia (DOCA).
In recognition of her work, she was featured in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list.
